Selenophilia is the term for people who have an intense attraction to the moon … The word “selini” comes from the Greek word σελήνη which means full moon .
This project is about the sense of seeking to embrace both the dark and the spiritual side of the human psyche. Using a symbolic approach while creating a dream atmosphere to explore issues concerning mental health, the shadows we come upon when we are striving to overcome a trauma that is forcing us to become in touch with the wilder animalistic side of us, one that if we follow through the end will set us free. Forming the inner need to connect on a deeper intimate level with ourselves, with the people surrounding us as well as with nature and animals. This is a personal narrative alongside documentary elements, a collection of places and people I met along the way at this period of my life. The people and places are taken during the period of 2012-2019. in various places including The United Kingdom, Denmark, Poland and Greece.
